GOOD SAM CALUMET TRAVELING SAM'S-INDIANA CHAPTER #2
Held at Leasure Valley Campground, Decatur, Michigan

Meeting called to order at 4:55  by President Jim Hall.

Prayer by Chuck and flag salute led by Tom Schneegas.

Minutes were read by Betty and Carolyn Schneegas made motion to approve and Tom Schneegas second.

Treasurer report by Jim in Ruth’s absence…..  Jim Wayte made motion to accept and Mary Frame second.

Correspondence: Thank you from Portage Township Food Pantry for our continued support.


OLD/NEW BUSINESS:
Jim attended president’s meeting……There are 41 chapters in Indiana and only 26 chapters attended. Jim
and Al both made motion that treasure’s report be sent to each chapter.  Motion made and passed but
chapters never received the report.
Jim’s name will be put on the ballot for State Director and the new director will be announced at the fall
samboree.  Jim feels a lot of work needs to be done to make the Good Sam Club better.  Lots of changes
need to be done for samboree’s in order to get more rigs there.  There will be hobo camping at the Fall
Samboree unless everyone arrives together.
spring samboree (May 21-May 24) applications are available on the internet/website,  applications need to
be in as soon as possible.  Golf carts are available for $20.00 a day and there will be no tours this year.

5/26.

Our 50/50 raffle of $40.00 was won by Bonnie Wayte.

Everyone really enjoyed Leasure Valley Campground and would enjoy going back.  Thanks George!!!

Meeting called to order at 5:05 p.m.  by President Jim Hall.

We had 19 members present and 2 guests, Bud & Gladys Weisbrod.

Prayer by Mary Kozuck and flag salute led by John Beitz.

Minutes were read by Betty and Chuck made motion to approve and Lenny Wagner second.

Treasurer report by Jim in Ruth’s absence…..  Mike Kozuch made motion to accept and Chuck Green
second.

Correspondence: Thank you note from Tina Alpers thanking us for our donation to the lymphoma
foundation.

OLD/NEW BUSINESS:

District 2 campout at Plamour will be 6/19-6/21/09.  

Note from Mike Nowak regarding District 1 campout at Plamour 8/28-8/30.  Rsvp by 8/1/09.

Jim mentioned a change to minutes as everyone was not happy with Leasure Valley as the George’s and
Frame’s were charged extra for not leaving by 11:00.  Jim feels we brought in a lot of revenue so extra
charges were uncalled for and he feels we should not go back.  Jim introduced our guests, Bud & Gladys
Weisbrod and Jim ask for a motion to make them honorary members.  Chuck made motion and Mickey
second.  Bud donated a VCR tape for all to share named Push Pilots of Alaska.

Good Sam 2010 Rally will be in Louisville, Ky from  7/22-7/25/09 so mark your calendar and plan to attend.  
Jim wrote letter to Good Sam club introducing us and stated that we should have a strong showing and
that our club is already making plans.  

Becca got a postcard from Lloyd and Sandy Stemper telling her about their travels to Alaska.  

Betty thanked everyone for their prayers, cards, calls, food caravan and especially for attending her brother’
s wake and funeral.

Judy Ponda thanked the club for all we did when her father passed away by bringing food to her mom’s,
calling her and for all the cards.  At a time like this our extended family means so much to us. Thanks
again from the Ponda’s and the Green’s.

Mary & Mike Kozuch invited everyone to a pig roast at their home on July 18th.  Just bring a dish and a lawn
chair. Call for more info. 219- 987-3185.

Connie ask that we announce there has been a couple of raids on some puppy mills and the humane
societies are in great need of puppy food.  Since next month is Humane Society month please bring
anything that you feel they can use such as  dog & cat food, puppy food, paper towels, and bleach.

June birthdays:  George George 6/17, Bobbie Goodwin 6/25, and Don Frame 6/28.

Meeting called to order at 5:04  p.m. by President Jim Hall.
We had 20 members present and 2 guests, Norm & Connie’s son and Jim & Marsha’s daughter Vickie.  
For grandparents weekend we had 11 grandchildren with us and we plan to have grandparents weekend
again in July 2010.  Campground to be chosen at a later date.
Prayer by Chuck  and flag salute led by Chuck.
Minutes were read by Betty.  Norm made motion to accept and John second.  Betty asked Jim what the
criteria was for being a charter member and he said just by attending some of our meetings and being
nice.  Also discussion about going back to Jones because of the extra charge to the George’s and Frame’
s.  Several people liked camping there and most campgrounds do charge for late check out but if is pre
arranged there should be no extra charge.   Make sure if you have a late check out that you have it in writing!!
Treasurer report by Jim in Ruth’s absence…..  Check written to Jacobs Ladder dated 10/20/08 is still
missing so Lynn is checking into it with Jacobs Ladder.   Lenny made motion to accept and Norm second.

Correspondence: Card from Lloyd and Sandy letting us know they were heading home soon.
Dist. 1 campout 8/28 to 8/30 at Elkhart Campground.  Jim wants to know asap how many will be attending.  
The charge is $28.00 per night.  Betty will send and e-mail reminder.
E-mails from Bud Weisbrod thanking us for a good time and will camp with us again soon

Old/New Business:
So far we have earned $252.30 from Rada and Jim wants to know if we want to extend it another year.  
Norm made motion and Lenny second to extend through the holidays.  
Jim received his nomination form for State Director, filled it out and sent it in.  Those running are Wayne
Crise, Jim Hall and John McCoy.
Good Sam 2010 Rally will be in Louisville, Ky from  7/22-7/25/10 so mark your calendar and plan to
attend.   Fall Samboree at Shelby Co. Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, In.  Applications are available.  All parking
is hobo……come together and you can camp together.
Jim presented each family a coffee cup with the Good Sam emblem on it as a thank you for all our hard
work. Thanks Jim!!!
