Calumet Traveling Sams Minutes from Sept 2011 The meeting was called to order at 5:00PM by President Jim Hall with 17 members and 2 guests present. Pledge was lead by Sandy. Minutes of the August meeting were read with one correction. The donation which was made to Baby Caanan should read $100 instead of $200. Correction made and minutes accepted. Treasurers report given with a current balance of $2194.02 in the treasury. There are still a few who have not made the $20 donation as voted upon. Please try to get this in so that we will be able to make our club donations. Also remember that it is now time to submit yearly dues of $12. Sharon reports on the visit to the Veterans Home and how rewarding it was to make our donations there, and to have the opportunity to visit with the residents, who have sacrificed their time and efforts for all of us in our great United States of America. Thank you Jim for arranging this visit. Sharon suggests that the Anniversary Party be moved to the May campout in order for more members to be present. Sandy S. motions the same and Mike seconds. Motion passed. The suggestion was then raised that we could have a catered meal for the party. All are in favor. The May campout will be scheduled for PlaMor to accomodate for the catering. Jim will make those arrangements. (Keep in mind that the April campout will still be the 3rd weekend for that month only and will also be at PlaMor.) George C. reports the conclusions of the nominating committee. They are President....Mike Kozuch, Vice President....Sharon Sanders, Treasurer....Judy Ponda, Secretary....Betty Green. If appointed, Mary will agree to remain as WagonMaster. (Mike and Sharon each state that they will accept the nominations with the understanding of the club that they will not be available in the winter months.) John moves to accept the slate of candidates and Chuck seconds. All in favor. ¬¬¬**Remember that next month will be the elections, so try to be there so that your voice will be heard.** Thank you to the committee for their hard work and persistence. Jim reports that the new State Director is Norm Eidelwine (sp?), and that the fall samboree will be Sept.23,24, and 25 at Shelbyville. Jim will plan to attend. Chuck asks about maintaining the website and sponsors. Jim says he will continue this. Tom presents a picture of a sign we observed in the campground which we might want to adopt for our club. | CALUMET TRAVELING SAMS MINUTES NOVEMBER 12, 2011 The meeting was held at Holley's Restaurant after a buffet lunch. Meeting was called to order by Pres. Jim Hall. There were 29 present and 1 guest. Minutes of the Oct meeting were read and passed with no additions or corrections. The treasurers report was given by Jim with a balance as of this date of $2529.20. This is after an audit of the books by Jim, Judy, Betty and Mary. Avis gives a report about her grandson David and his ongoing progress with his canceer treatment. She thanks all for the many prayers, and we all say" Thanks be to GOD." Jim reports that the Barr mtg was held with 22 club presidents present. This is representative of 41 chapters. He states that there will be some changes made to the present By Laws. Jim presents the new Board to the club. They are- Pres. Mike Kozuch, Vice Pres. Sharon Sanders, Secretary Betty Green and Treasureer Judy Ponda. They will take over their positions in January 2012. Mike asks that anyone who has an issue to be brought before the membership, contact him before the meeting so that it can be put on the agenda. (Michael.kozuch14@gmail.com) or 219-869-0359. Jim thanks the club for support over the past 5 1/2 years. Betty ( on behalf of the club) thanks Jim for all of the work he has done in the past 5 1/2 years. We apreciate all of Jim's efforts to guide us into a first class RV club. Another reminder was made that club dues are DUE NOW. Jim needs to send the membership in to state right away. Our club has lost a few members due to various reasons, and we need to remember to make others welcome to join us in our RV adventures. Keep your eyes and ears open for those who might be looking for a great club. At this time we have 20 paid units, but only 13 who have contributed to our fundraising efforts. Please join us and contribute in what ever way you can. There was discussion about our Toys for Tots project. The local chapter of ABATE of Indiana ( American Bikers Aimed Toward Education ) has offered to place a collection box for their Toys for Tykes at Holley's Restaurant for our donations. They will provide the box, pick it up after our meeting, and take care of the distribution. Plase begin to gather your unwrapped toys and gifts to place in the box, so that we can all be Blessed to make a Merry Christmas for children and families who are less fortunate that we are at this time. Please be as generous as you feel you can, and remember that HE will reward a good heart more amazingly than we can imagine. If you are not going to be able to be present at the meeting, please get your donations to another club member who will be present and who can take them for you. There will also be a collection for the food pantry at the Dec. meeting. With no further business, the meeting was closed. 50/50 won by guest Dominick. The next meeting wil be held on Dec 10th at 1:00pm at Holley's Restaurant in DeMotte. The luncheon will be offered from the Sandwich menu. |
| CALUMET TRAVELING SAMS OCTOBER 2011 MINUTES The meeting was called to order by President Jim Hall with 24 members and 2 guests present. Minutes of the Sept meeting read and approved with no additions or corrections. Treasurers report was given with a balance of $2403.02. Please be reminded that if you have not yet paid your $20 contribution or your dues, it is important to do so as soon as possible. Jim reports that the Spring Samboree will be in Greentown, In, and that the Fall Samboree will be in Ft Wayne the 3rd weekend of Sept. The District ( dist 1-2-3&4 ) meeting will be June 22 thru the 24th at Elkhart. Jim read the e-mails from John and Avis in regard to the very serious illness of their grandson David. Please be in prayer for David and all of his family as he undergoes treatment that he may be returned to good health. Jim reports that Portage Food Pantry continues to serve an increasing number of folks and that still needs help. ( At this time in the meeting, it became imperative that we pause for the train to pass--------- the LONG train.) OK , back to business. Betty suggest that due to many members being gone at the time of the Dec. meeting , it would be nice to hold a Holiday party at the November meeting. Motion made and passed. The new club sign was discussed. Jim offered a brochure from a vendor who has done this type of sign for other clubs and is familiar with them. Mike will check into this further at a later date. Voting for the new board was held with the results being Pres. Mike Kozuch,- Vice President, Sharon Sanders- Secretary, Betty Green- and Treasurer, Judy Ponda. Jim asks for volunteers to audit the books before the instillation of new officers. Betty and Mary agreed to help. They will meet with Jim before the next club meeting. With no further business, Norm motions to adjourn and Mickey 2nds. Meeting adjourned. 50/50 won by Sue. Several members had a great time carving pumpkins during the campout, and much fun was had by the WINNERS, and the "NOT THE WINNERS". Everyone think about preparing for the contest next year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The November meeting will be held at Holley's Restaurant in DeMotte on Nov. 12th at 1:00 PM. We will have a buffet lunch. The luncheon will include--Soup and Salad Bar, Broasted Chicken, Salisbury Steak and gravy, Pasta, Mashed and Broasted Potatos with Chicken or White gravy, Green Beans, a Dessert and Drinks (Sodas, Coffee, Tea,or Lemonade) All for $10.00 per person. |
