CALUMET TRAVELING SAMS
MINUTES OF
MEETINGS

                     CALUMET TRAVELING SAMS JULY MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by President Jim Hall at 4:55pm with 16 members present and 9 guests.

The Pledge was led by Helen and Prayer offered by Tom.

June minutes were read. Mike motions to accept minutes as read and Chuck seconds. Minutes passed.

There was no Treasurers report available. Jim will communicate with Tina in regard to the treasurers report before the next
meeting.

Jim read communications from George C. and from Gary and Carol from their Alaskan adventures. All are having a good
trip and Gary and Carol have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. "CONGRATULATIONS" offered from the club
members.

Jim again asks all to work on getting sponsorships to increase our funds for donations.

Mary reports that the club did receive a rebate check in the amount of $91 from Pla- Mor campground. They did inquire
about our donations and were pleased that we support special needs children. Mary would like to send a note expressing
the intentions of the club for the use of this rebate along with the Thank You. Mike makes a motion that this rebate be used
to benefit Becca's special needs class and that it be increased to $150 every Quarter. After discussion the motion is
amended to sending the $150 now and then reopening the discussion for vote quarterly. Betty seconds the motion. Motion
passed. Mary will send the Thank You to Pla-Mor advising them in how the rebate will be utilized to benefit special needs
children.

Dale reports that the 2011 District meeting will be held the last weekend of June at Elkhart Campground and will combine
all 4 Districts now.

There is discussion about reasons for the low turnout at the Samborees. Jim did report about the reasons that this club
membership has stated that they do not care to attend, and Helen volunteers that " they are not fun". This pretty much sums
up the sentiment.

Marilyn reports that they did not receive the minutes of the last meeting. She suggests that anyone who does not receive e-
mails and who wishes to receive communications from the group, should provide self-addressed, stamped envelopes so that
those communications can be mailed. Mary makes a motions to adopt that practice and Dave seconds. Motion passed.
(Therefore anyone who does not receive e-mail and wishes to get the communications should provide those envelopes to
the Secretary or to the President so that they can be mailed out.)

Carolyn offers a new idea for fund raising. She would be willing to make a Quilt project for a membership raffle. She will
have this ready for the August campout and will begin selling tickets then. This idea was unanomously accepted and
approved.

Jim reports that it remains unknown about whether or not we will be able to continue the winter meetings at Flying J. Betty
and Mary will inqire at Flying J and at Boundry Waters and will seek a backup plan if needed.

Betty offers a report about giving with a glad heart. She tells of looking up an elderly couple who made a generous
donation after the death of her brother Roy. They did not know Roy or any of the others who died, but selflessly sent $100 to
each of the 3 families. When Betty looked them up, it was obvious that they had no outward wealth, but possesed the
wealth of God's love and spirit of giving. It was very touching and a stark reminder of how we need to assess our own
Blessings and let these folks be an example to us.

Mike offers "thank you's" to all who expressed well wishes while he was in the hospital.

Jim reminds all that any communications that concern the club, or are related to club events, should be relayed to him for
approval, and then sent to all members.

With no further business, Mike motions to adjourn, and Betty seconds. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.

50/50 of $30 won by Chuck and $10 returned by him to add to 'special needs' donation. Thank you Chuck.

P.S. Grandchildren and Grandparents had a wonderful campout!

Remember to contact Mary if you plan to attend the Aug. campout at Lakeview Campground in Rochester.

Calumet Traveling Sams   Minutes for June Campout

We met at PlaMor Campground in Bremen. The meeting was called to order at 5:03 by President Jim Hall.
Pledge was led by Bobbie.

The minutes from the May meeting were read. Carolyn motions that minutes be approved as read. Avis
seconds the motion. Motion passed.

There was no treasurers report available at this time.

The roll was called with 24 present, plus 4 guests. Bud and Gladys joined us and were a welcome
addition. Jim introduced the other guests, John and Vickie Harrison. We are hoping that they will want to
join us soon.

Jim reported on the recently attended BAR meeting and noted that there are many problems that need to
be resolved at that level.

Judy reports that she has made the reservations for the upcoming Sept. Mt Ary, Nort Carolina trip. Carolyn
will be making arrangements for the Oct Branson trip. Jim reminds the group of the District 1 and 2
meeting at this location next weekend. He asks for as much attendence as possible.

Jim reads a THANK YOU note from Mike and Dawn for the caring support from the group at the recent
passing of Mike's father.

We were invited to join Who's Ur Winnies for  a charity auction on Sat. evening and Gospel music on
Sunday morning.

Mary presented an idea for a fundraiser by having a mystery auction. Each member would provide a
mystery item and we would then blindly bid on these items. It could be a lot of fun. We can revisit this idea
again next month. Everyone begin thinking of ways to raise funds for the club, and present your ideas. I
know there are great ideas out there to be shared

.Remember that next month is Grandparents weekend at Beaver Ridge.

With no further business John motions to adjourn, and Ray seconds. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at
5:35. 50/50 drawing of $35 won by Ray. Minutes submitted by Mary
